Aa(Big A little a) 12" EP

Aa(aka Big A little a) is a band I'd been searching for for ages, I'd heard things here and there and I needed to hear more. Luckily about a month ago I found this. It's another one of those things I can't really describe. All you need to know is it's really good. I think most would consider it an aqquired taste, but trust me, if you don't love it the first time around, give it a few more spins and you'll start to dig it.

YUSSUF FUCKING JERUSALEM!!!

I absolutley can not say how much I love this album. I was hipped to it maybe 2 months ago now and I listen to at least a few tracks once a day still. All I'm going to say is that you need this. The first track is pure first wave Norwegian black metal, the rest sounds like Joy Division, if Joy Division was a dirty garage band. Plus there's a Marriane Faithful cover. Oh and they're french.Download it and then burn it for all your friends you actually like.

Cat Killer-Words to Remember

This is 4 tracks of really rad bedroom psych-pop stuff with some great kinda clumsy guitars and electronics sprinkled throughout. It's really surprisingly accessible.

Adam Green & Lissy Trullie-Just A Friend(Biz Markie cover)

Adam Green was on Cash Cab the other night. I think he won like 800 bucks, and that reminded me of this little gem. I had stumbled upon this video a few months ago and was really really stoked off it. I still think it's great. Anyways, I ripped the audio so now you can have it on your iPod if you want to. I do.

And of course no matter how good this may be, nobody could ever do it better than the Biz.

Bird Names-Open Relationship

Today was spent at the SF public library watching homeless dudes sleep, reading Nine Stories again (because I'm too broke to buy a new copy and even too broke to pay off my library fees),braving the restrooms, and attempting to download new music on the free wi-fi the library provides. Everything I tried to download took at least half an hour. This one in particular took 3 hours. Luckily, it was well worth the wait. I'm not even sure how to describe this stuff. It's like sorta bluesy, psych pop that's all over the place. I liked walking home to it.

The Charlottes-LoveHappy

So this is the first album from the band Simon Scott was in before forming Slowdive. It's somewhere in between twee and shoegaze. It's good, real good.. That's pretty much all you need to know about it.

Best Coast Megapost!!

Best Coast is a band from Los Angeles, but I won't hold that against them, and niether should you. This stuff and the Girls album is what I imagine people from the midwest assume California sounds like. Perfectly crafted beach blanket pop tunes with just the right amount of dirt sprinkled on top.
